Participants who have already been involved with evidence-based teaching practices through the Center for Teaching Innovation and/or Future Faculty and Academic Careers are eligible to apply for an exemption to earn advanced certificates without first earning the Associate certificate. In order to receive a Practitioner or Scholar certificate without first earning the Associate certificate, applicants must demonstrate that they have met the learning outcomes of the Associate level.

Exemptions may be obtained either through written request or through a short interview with the Executive Director of Future Faculty and Academic Careers. To submit a written request, please provide a short answer to the following questions about engagement with the Core Ideas of CIRTL and send your responses to futurefaculty@cornell.edu:

• How have you engaged with the Core Idea of Learning through Diversity through courses or workshops?
• How have you engaged with the Core Idea of Learning Communities through courses or workshops?
• How have you engaged with the Core Idea of Evidence-Based Teaching (the foundational knowledge surrounding Teaching as Research) through courses or workshops?
