SUMMARY:Career Launchpad: Navigating the Job Market in Academia
DESCRIPTION:We are pleased to highlight this free\, online workshop presented by recent Ph.D. graduates of partner universities and Chinese Historians in the United States (CHUS)\, an affiliated society of the American Historical Association (AHA). This workshop is designed to assist recent doctoral graduates and PhD candidates in the Humanities and Social Sciences to better prepare for their job search. \nThe event will be a 2-hour online workshop with three junior scholars who have successfully obtained academic positions in the last two years. During the workshop\, they will share their experiences and insights on how they prepared for job applications\, their job application process\, and any other advice they may have for aspiring academics. The workshop is open to all young scholars who are interested in landing a job in academia. \nSpeakers include: \n\nDr. Sarah Yu\, incoming Assistant Professor\, DeSales University\nDr. Dingru Huang\, incoming Assistant Professor\, Tufts University\nDr. Sarah Chang\, incoming Assistant Professor\, Miami University\nDr. Yi Ren (moderator)\, Director of the Engagement Program at CHUS
