SUMMARY:International Student / Postdoc Job Search Discussion
DESCRIPTION:It’s been three months since we started working from home\, and the job market/outlook also has been changing. The International Student/Postdoc Job Search Virtual Monthly Chat is designed to get international students/postdocs who are seeking for jobs together to talk about concerns that all share\, and strategize about how to move forward.\n \nDuring this session\, we will have a brief introduction of all the career and immigration staff presented and hear tips from them regarding job search and immigration. After this information is shared\, it will open up for all participants to ask questions and have a facilitated discussion. Representatives from Future Faculty and Academic Careers will also be present to share their knowledge for people who would like to explore career in academia. \n \nDuring the International Student/Postdoc Job Search Discussion Group\, we have created an opportunity for you to join us and learn about the resources you have to draw upon to help you through this journey. SUMMARY:Research Statements for Research-Intensive Universities: A Panel Discussion
DESCRIPTION:This session features a panel of three early career researchers who recently successfully obtained tenure-track faculty positions\, talking about how they approached writing a successful research statement for a research-intensive (or R1) university job application. Through questions and discussion\, learn how to craft a focused and compelling research plan that will describe your areas of focus\, past contributions\, and plans for future work directions up to tenure.
