Consultations and Advising Appointments
Cornell postdocs and graduate students preparing application materials for tenure-track academic positions may schedule individual consultations with Christine Holmes, Director of Postdoctoral Studies, to discuss their job search and application materials. To schedule a consultation, send an email request to Christine Holmes (ch18@cornell.edu) or visit the Office of Postdoctoral Studies booking page.
Those who are current or prospective participants in Future Faculty and Academic Careers and/or CIRTL Network programming are also encouraged to book an online appointment with Associate Dean for Professional Development Colleen McLinn.
Complementary Memberships and External Resources
All graduate students and postdocs can access online webinars offered through The National Center for Faculty Development and Diversity (NCFDD). Individual NCFDD memberships are available for free to all Cornell community members as a benefit of Cornell’s Institutional membership. Resources provided by the NCFDD include 14-Day Writing Challenges, Monday Motivators, Dissertation Success Training Modules, Guest Expert Webinars, and more!
CIRTL is a worldwide future faculty preparation effort with branches at more than 45 universities, including at Cornell. Participate in online workshops, courses, and institutes on diversity in the college classroom, Individual Development Plans (IDPs), the academic job search, and many additional topics in the areas of teaching and research mentoring. Please feel free to contact Associate Dean for Professional Development Colleen McLinn (futurefaculty@cornell.edu) with any questions. CIRTL Network programs are available to all Cornell graduate students, postdocs, faculty, and staff, plus Graduate School alumni and recent Cornell postdocs.
